Teacher Appreciation Day謝師日
On the first day of class,
Professor Antonio decided he would introduce himself.
When everyone was seated , h e started , “ Hel l o,everyone!
I ‘m Professor Antonio.
I will be instructing you this semester.”
He waited to make sure everyone was still paying attention.
He continued, “I’ve been teaching for 20 years.
I went to all the best schools
and have many degrees in many different fields of study.”
He could see some of his students were beginning to lose interest.
“Clearly, I’m very smart.
I speak fast and think faster.
So if anyone can’t understand me,
may I ask that you please stand up?” he said.
Everyone in the class just looked at each other.
He continued, “OK, all the people who are really dumb, stand up.”
The students paused for a moment, until Donnie stood up.
“Are you dumb, young man?” Professor Antonio asked.
Donnie replied, “Well no, but I didn’t want you to be the only one standing up.”
第 一天上課時，
安東尼奧教授決定先自我介紹。
大家都就座後，他說：「大家好，我是安東尼奧教授。

他發現有一些學生開始不專心起來。
他說： 「顯然，我很聰明。
我說話快且思考更快。
所以如果有人不了解我在說什麼，請起立好嗎？」
班上同學互相看來看去。
他接著說：「好，所有真正蠢的人請起立。」
學生們暫停了一會，直到唐尼站起來。
安東尼奧教授問道：「年輕人，你很蠢嗎？」
唐尼回答：「嗯，不，只是我不想要你成為唯一站起來的人。」
