A : 農曆新年就要到了，要記得寄賀年卡跟客戶拜年。
B : 客服部昨天已經全部寄出了。
A : 那尚未簽約的客戶呢？

Dialogue 1
Kids' Chinese New Year（孩子的新年）
Ben and Cherry are meeting in the park.
Chinese New Year has just ended.
Ben 和 Cherry 在公園見面。
中國新年才剛結束。
Cherry：Hey Ben! Long time no see!
Cherry：嗨，Ben！好久不見了！
Ben：Tell me about it!
I feel like we haven't talked in ages.
So how was Chinese New Year for you?
Ben：還用你說。
我覺得我們好久沒聊了。
你的中國新年過得如何呢？
Cherry：I had a great time.
All my relatives gave me red envelopes.
I really cleaned up this year!
Cherry：我玩得非常開心。
我所有的親戚都給我紅包。
今年真的是大撈一筆呢！
clean up 【俚】大撈一筆
He cleaned up in the stock market last year.
去年他在股票市場大撈一筆。
Ben：I'm so jealous!
How was the food?
Ben：真羨慕你！
食物怎麼樣？
Cherry：Are you kidding?
It was spectacular!
My aunt makes the best dumplings.
We look forward to them all year!
Cherry：你在說笑嗎？
超讚的！
我的伯母包的餃子最棒。
我們可是期待了一整年呢！
Ben：Wow! Those are my favorite too!
My grandmother says that eating them can make you rich and prosperous.
Ben：哇！那也是我最愛吃的！
我的祖母說，吃餃子可以財富滾滾、好運旺旺來。
prosperous原指「繁榮／興盛的」，形容「人」時，譯為「飛黃騰達的」。
Cherry：I don't know about that, I just love the taste.
Cherry：這我是不清楚，我只是喜歡那種味道。
Ben：It sure sounds like it!
Maybe next year you can save me some, and we'll get rich together!
Ben：聽說真的是這樣啦，
或許明年你可以替我留一些，那麼我們就可以一起變有錢了！
Dialogue 2
A Couple's Chinese New Year（小倆口的新年）
Frank and Jenny are married.
They are preparing for dinner on the first day of Chinese New Year.
Frank 和 Jenny 是一對夫妻。
他們正在準備著中國新年第一天的晚餐。
Jenny：Frank, are you almost ready?
Jenny：Frank，你差不多準備好了嗎？
Frank：Just a sec, I still need to get dressed.
Did you fill all the red envelopes?
Frank：再一下子，我仍需要整裝。
你所有紅包都裝好了嗎？
Jenny：Relax – I told you I'm on the ball.
But I still think 200 NT is too much to give.
Jenny：輕鬆點，我說過我的手段高明。
不過我還是認為給 200 塊台幣太多了。
Frank：Come on! Don't be such a tightwad!
It's a special occasion! I think you agonize too much about these little things.
Frank：拜託！不要這麼吝嗇！

Jenny：沒什麼大不了？？你玩鞭炮玩到幾乎要把你的手炸掉了！
你為什麼不坐下來和我們這些人打麻將，而非得出去和你那些不可靠的的弟兄鬼混呢？

] 原指「蹦蹦跳跳」，在此引申為「以放縱的心情跳舞、遊玩... 等」，
因此也解釋為「鬼混」。
Frank：Look who's talking about irresponsible!
Do I need to remind you about how much of our money you lost last year?
I think your sister bought a new car with her winnings!
Frank：你看是誰不可靠了！
需要我提醒你去年把我們的錢輸掉多少嗎？
我想你的姐妹們是用贏來的錢買新車的！
Jenny：Well I can't help it if I had bad luck.
Jenny：如果是運氣不好，我也沒辦法。
Frank：Fine – let's just bury the hatchet.
We'll both try to be more responsible.
And for now, let's just focus on having a good time tonight.
It's a celebration, after all.
Frank：好吧－－我們先握手言和吧。
我們都試著更有責任感一點。
而現在呢，我們先把焦點放在今晚的美好時光吧。
畢竟，這是值得慶祝的。
bury the hatchet 和解
After their long argument the two brothers have at last buried the hatchet.
長期爭吵之後,兄弟倆終於和解了。

Huihui: Let's go to Ping Xi tomorrow to light sky lanterns.

Shelly: What's a sky lantern?
什麼是天燈？
Huihui: It's like a small hot air balloon.
You can write messages on it and let it fly into the sky.
就是小的熱氣球啦。
你可以在上面寫些留言，讓它飛到天空中。
Shelly: Oh, another festival?
Is it as fun as the Chinese New Year?
喔，又有節慶了？
有像新年那麼有趣嗎？
Huihui: Sure. It's also called the "Little New Year."
It's on the fifteenth day of the New Year.
This day also marks the end of the New Year holiday.
當然。這也叫「小過年」。

Shelly: Then we should definitely have some fun tomorrow.

Huihui: Yeah.

Huihui: Well, there will be a huge display of decorative lanterns
at the Chang Kai-Shek Memorial Plaza.
There might even be a "lantern riddle party" somewhere.
